Craft Your Path
The four-year programme starts with an overview of global communication and fundamental media production training. In the second year, under our teachers’ guidance, students get a taste of real-life journalism by joining Varsity, our school’s English news magazine, and participate in a theme-based overseas field trip to give them an in-depth understanding of global communication issues.
The third year provides an opportunity for self-exploration. Students go on an academic exchange at one of the School of Journalism and Communication’s partner universities in Asia, Europe or North America. This allows them to spend one or two academic terms abroad, mingling with university students and scholars from other countries, and enriching their learning experience with cultural and language exchanges. Optional global internships are provided for students to put theory into practice. In the final year of the programme, the students critically reflect on the role of global digital platforms and conduct a final-year project of their choice.
Career Prospects
Graduates of the programme are pursuing careers in multinational corporations, international news organisations, global advertising and public relations agencies, new media organisations, government and non-profit organisations. They can also pursue postgraduate studies in global communication, media studies and various related fields.
