Achieve the Mindset of Geo-visionaries
The mindscape of geo-visionaries allows them to go beyond their physical and cultural surroundings to address environmental challenges to ensure a sustainable future. Our Geography and Resource Management programme equips students with geographical knowledge and skills with an emphasis on effective resource management pertinent to the sustainable development of humankind. Students gain not only interdisciplinary knowledge, but also professional skills and the forward-looking mindset of geo-visionaries.
In addition to formal lectures, students have the opportunity to participate in field trips, and internship and mentorship programmes. This experience allows students to develop a better understanding of real-world problems, maintain close and direct interaction with professionals, and gain work and life experience.

Craft Your Path
Geography is a broad and integrated subject with many areas of specialization dealing with human activities and the physical environment. Our curriculum maintains a good balance between the physical and human dimensions of geography and emphasises geo-information techniques, including GIS and remote sensing, as well as the topics of resource management and smart sustainable cities.
Our curriculum focuses on the interplay of four concentration areas:
- Geo-spatial Data Science
- Physical Environment and Resource Management
- Smart Sustainable Cities
- Urban and Regional Development
Career Prospects
Geography is a multi-disciplinary field of study with numerous branches with a very broad scope. A distinctive aim of geographical education is to equip students with not only extensive knowledge, but also professional skills and a forward-looking vision. Therefore, our graduates have a very wide spectrum of career choices and play an important role in a variety of fields. For many of our graduates, a degree in GRM prepares them well for postgraduate training and subsequently a professional career in urban planning, geoinformation science, environmental management, country park management, transport and logistics, travel and tourism, and education. Others have ventured into fields such as business and finance, administration and management, information services, social service, customer service, sales and marketing, and human resources management. Following are the employment statistics of our 2022 graduates:

Employers of our graduates in recent years include ESRI China (Hong Kong) Limited, AECOM, The Jockey Club Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course, the Hong Kong Cricket Club, New World Development, MTR Corporation, The Conservancy Association, The Green Earth and the HKSAR Government.
