The Mainstay of Science Education
The Faculty of Science has a flexible, broad-based admission scheme that places high priority on individual students and their interests. Students can choose from among 11 major programmes in the Faculty of Science:
- Biochemistry
- Biology
- Biology and Chemistry (Double Major Programme) #
- Cell and Molecular Biology
- Chemistry
- Earth and Environmental Sciences
- Food and Nutritional Sciences
- Mathematics
- Molecular Biotechnology
- Physics
- Statistics
There is no quota for a specific major. Depending on their preparation, students can declare their major at the time of entry or at the end of Year 1 or 2 #.
#Students interested in the Biology and Chemistry Double Major Programme should declare their major at the time of entry or at the end of Year 1.
Craft Your Path
In addition to lectures, tutorials and laboratory sessions, students are encouraged to take part in various experiential learning activities, like internships, and research and exchange programmes to enhance their ability to communicate and gain a wider perspective, thus preparing them for upcoming challenges in the fast changing world.
Science Technology and Research Stream (STARS)

The Science Technology and Research Stream (STARS) is a research-oriented stream, designed for students with strong academic ability and interest in gaining wider exposure and research experience during their undergraduate studies. Under the supervision of our professors, students in STARS can develop their research interests by joining international conferences, seminars and outgoing exchange programmes.
