Programme Expected Score (7):

Points to note:

  1. JUPAS Admission and Expected Score
Achieving the Programme Expected Score is considered to be competitive for the programme concerned in Band A for 2025 entry. However, selection for admission is on a competitive basis, and is not based solely on public examination results. In addition to HKDSE results, other factors such as information submitted via JUPAS applications, Other Experiences and Achievements in Competitions/Activities (OEA), school results, school references, and interview performance will also be considered holistically. As the overall scores and profiles of applicants vary from year to year, the Expected Score is provided for reference only and should not be used to predict the chance of admission to any programme in any given year.
  2. Extra Elective Subjects and Bonus Points
In addition to subjects considered in the selection principles of programmes, applicants’ performance in extra elective subjects will be considered, and bonus points will be awarded to up to the 7th subject. However, bonus points for extra HKDSE subjects are not included in this calculator.
  3. HKDSE Score Conversion
    HKDSE Score conversion for Category A Core and Elective Subjects: 5** = 8.5 | 5* = 7 | 5 = 5.5 | 4 = 4 | 3 = 3 | 2 = 2 | 1 = 1 except JS4501 MBChB and JS4502 MBChB-GPS where 5** = 7 | 5* = 6 | 5 = 5 | 4 = 4 | 3 = 3 | 2 = 2 | 1 = 1
  4. HKDSE Cat B, Cat C, and ACL Subjects
HKDSE Category B: Applied Learning Subjects, Category C: Other Language Subjects, and Alternative Chinese Qualifications are not included in this calculator.
  5. HKDSE Repeat Attempts
For 2025 entry, the best result in the same subject taken by a candidate in his/her three most recent attempts of the HKDSE examination will be used for calculation of the admission score. Few programmes may impose a penalty on HKDSE repeaters. Please click here for details. The penalty for multiple HKDSE sittings is not included in this calculator.
  6. Citizenship and Social Development (CS) / Liberal Studies (LS)
The “Attained” level in CS will not be considered in the calculation of admission scores. For LS subject taken in 2023 or before, a Level 2 or above will be considered as “Attained” in CS.
  7. Integrated Science / Combined Science
For Integrated Science or Combined Science subject(s) taken in 2023 or before, a Level 3 or above will be considered as an unspecified elective subject where applicable.
