Points to note:

1. The “Attained” level in Citizenship and Social Development (CS) will not be considered in the calculation of admission scores.
2. For Liberal Studies (LS) subject taken in 2023 or before, a Level 2 or above will be considered as “Attained” in Citizenship and Social Development. The LS level will not be considered in the calculation of admission scores.
3. For Integrated Science or Combined Science subject(s) taken in 2023 or before, a Level 3 or above will be considered as an unspecified elective subject where applicable.
4. HKDSE Category B: Applied Learning Subjects, Category C: Other Language Subjects, Alternative Chinese Qualifications and bonus points for extra HKDSE subjects are not included in this calculator.
5. For 2024 entry, the best result in the same subject taken by a candidate in his/her three most recent attempts of the HKDSE examination will be used for calculation of the admission score. Few programmes may impose a penalty on HKDSE repeaters. Please refer to https://www.cuhk.edu.hk/adm/jupas/arrangement-for-more-than-one-sitting-2024.pdf for details. The penalty for multiple HKDSE sittings is not included in this calculator.
6. HKDSE Score conversion for Category A Core and Elective Subjects: 5** = 8.5 | 5* = 7 | 5 = 5.5 | 4 = 4 | 3 = 3 | 2 = 2 | 1 = 1 except JS4501 Medicine (MBChB) Programme and JS4502 Medicine (MBChB) Programme Global Physician-Leadership Stream (GPS) where 5** = 7 | 5* = 6 | 5 = 5 | 4 = 4 | 3 = 3 | 2 = 2 | 1 = 1
7. Achieving the Programme Expected Score is considered to be competitive for the programme concerned in Band A for 2024 entry. However, please note that as admission is not based on public examination results alone, and the overall scores of students applying to each programme vary from year to year, the Expected Score shown is for reference only and should not be used to predict the chance of admission to any programme in any given years.
