Scholarships for JUPAS Students Admitted
on the Basis of HKDSE Results (2025 Entry)

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) offers a number of Admission Scholarships to outstanding students admitted on the basis of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) results. To be eligible for the University Admission Scholarships, JUPAS students should have obtained Level 5** in at least one HKDSE subject. The amounts of University Admission Scholarships for JUPAS students range from a minimum one-off amount of HK$8,000 to HK$699,500 covering full-tuition fees by instalments as well as a one-off study allowance and exchange scholarship for local and/ or overseas learning activities.

Students need not apply for the University Admission Scholarships. The University will identify qualified students and inform them of the scholarship offers after admission.

  • Renewable tuition fee waiver of HK$44,500 [iv] per annum, tenable for the normative study period of the programme subject to satisfactory academic performance; and
  • Honours at Entrance [v]
    (i.e. maximum total of HK$500,500 for a 4-year programme and HK$599,500 for a 6-year programme)
Level 5** in 5 subjects
  • One-off Study Allowance [iii] of HK$170,000 for local and/ or overseas learning activities;
  • Renewable tuition fee waiver of HK$44,500 [iv] per annum, tenable for the normative study period of the programme subject to satisfactory academic performance;
  • One-off amount of HK$30,000 for an outgoing exchange or overseas learning activity; and
  • Honours at Entrance [v]
    (i.e. maximum total of HK$390,500 for a 4-year programme and HK$489,500 for a 6-year programme)
Level 5** in 4 subjects
  • Renewable tuition fee waiver of HK$44,500 [iv] per annum, tenable for the normative study period of the programme subject to satisfactory academic performance;
  • One-off amount of HK$10,000 for an outgoing exchange or overseas learning activity; and
  • Honours at Entrance [v]
Level 5** in 3 subjects
  • Non-renewable tuition fee waiver of HK$44,500 [iv];
  • One-off amount of HK$10,000 for an outgoing exchange or overseas learning activity; and
  • Honours at Entrance [v]
Level 5** in 2 subjects
  • Non-renewable tuition fee waiver of HK$12,000; and
  • One-off amount of HK$10,000 for an outgoing exchange or overseas learning activity
Level 5** in 1 subject
  • Non-renewable tuition fee waiver of HK$8,000
  1. Mathematics Extended Parts (M1 and M2) are counted as individual subjects.
  2. The Admission Scholarships are supported by fundings of the University or its constituent Colleges.
  3. The one-off Study Allowance and Exchange Scholarship will be disbursed in the first year of study. 
  4. The scholarship amount on tuition fee waiver will be adjusted in accordance with the annual tuition fee announced by the HKSAR Government.
  5. An award of “Honours at Entrance” is a non-monetary honour to be recorded in the official transcript.
