Programme Introduction

CUHK x CUHK(SZ) “2+2” Collaborative Double Major Programme

In this first-of-its-kind collaborative double-major programme, The Chinese University of Hong Kong [CUHK] and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) [CUHK(SZ)] jointly launched a new Greater Bay Area “2+2” degree programme – Interdisciplinary Data Analytics and X Double Major Programme (IDADM) – providing students with an immersive educational experience in the emerging southern Chinese megalopolis and contributing to the region’s talent pool.

IDADM students will pursue two majors: Interdisciplinary Data Analytics, offered by CUHK, and another major from among specific academic disciplines (Science, Engineering and Business), offered by either CUHK or CUHK(SZ). In the four-year programme, IDADM students will attend classes and participate in learning and research activities on both the CUHK Shatin and Shenzhen campuses.

Craft Your Path

The programme in Interdisciplinary Data Analytics encompasses a wide spectrum of subject knowledge and skills in Business, Engineering and Science, with real-life applications of Big Data and Business Analytics for innovation and development. The other major in a related discipline enables in-depth studies. The programme also includes credit-bearing field trip(s) in the GBA and other parts of Asia.

Guaranteed admission to CUHK’s flagship Co-Operative Education Programme provides IDADM students with full-time paid work experience in CUHK’s established industry network in the region.

Career Prospects

The programme is ideally suited for students interested in pursuing a career in leading national organisations and multinational enterprises committed to developing markets in the GBA or the rest of Mainland China:

  • Students acquire a broad base of knowledge in Science, Engineering and Business with the ability to integrate interdisciplinary knowledge for innovation and technology development.
  • They develop effective analytical and communication skills focusing on the public, non-public and NGOs sectors.
  • They study with other students from diverse backgrounds and exposure to cities in the GBA and other parts of Asia, engaging in collaboration and teamwork.
  • They build strong industry and personal networks.

If you are interested in this programme, please review the application requirements and deadlines specific to the respective admission scheme to increase your chances of getting accepted.
