Other Major Scholarships

University scholarships not only give recognition and encouragement to outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate students, but also provide financial support for students to participate in activities which are beneficial to their whole-person development.

University scholarships are usually granted by considering the following factors:

  • Academic merit
  • Community services
  • Leadership potential
  • Other non-academic performance, e.g. sports, innovation and creativity, music, arts

The University offers a wide range of scholarships and awards of which the major categories are as follows:

To support students to participate in exchange, short-term overseas study programmes and other outreach activities.  For example:

To support graduates to pursue a postgraduate degree, or even a second bachelor’s degree for some awards, at the overseas institutions.  For example:

To award students with enthusiastic participation in campus services and/or community services.  For example:

To support outstanding young talents for participating in research at renowned institutions outside Hong Kong.  For example:

To encourage students who have demonstrated achievements or talent in (a) Sports and games; (b) Music and performing arts; (c) Culture, arts and design; or (d) Innovation, science and technology.  For example: Talent Development Scholarship

  • Some corporations offer both internship opportunities and scholarships to students. After completion of the internship, scholarship would also be granted to the students as encouragement.
